FAQ

Add a new client

To add a new client, simply tap the ‘+’ icon in the upper right corner of your Client List. Then, enter their name and contact info. When you’re all done, tap the ‘✓’ in the upper right to finish!

Import existing clients

You can easily import existing clients from the contacts on your phone. From the main menu, tap ‘Import Contacts’. Then, simply select each person you’d like to import and tap the ‘✓’ when you’re done.

*Please note that occasionally a client's phone number will not appear in Gloss, even though it is in your address book. Much to our dismay, only numbers saved as "mobile" or "home" in your address book are able to transfer to the app due to some technical limitations. While not ideal, you can just copy and paste the phone number from address book into client card in Gloss.

Save a new formula

To save a new formula, simply choose a client and tap the ‘+’ on their client card. Then, tap where it says ‘Add New Formula’ and enter your formula. If you’d like to add photos (you can always add more later), tap the camera icon to snap or upload a few cute pics. When you’re all done, hit the ‘✓’ to finish!

Use a previous formula

For those clients who don’t like to change things up, you can easily use a previous formula. After you choose the client and tap ‘+’ on their client card, just click an old formula in the bottom section and it will appear at the top. You can leave it as is or edit as you see fit. When you’re done, tap the ‘✓’ to finish!

edit a formula

If you want to view or edit an existing formula, tap on it from the client card. Once on the formula page, you’ll see the date at the top, which you can tap to change. To edit the actual formula, simply tap anywhere on it and you’ll see a cursor appear. When you’re done, tap ‘Save’ or ‘Cancel’.

EDIT THE DATE OF A FORMULA

You can edit the date for any formula simply by tapping on the date while on the individual formula page.

add photos to a formula

Pics or it didn’t happen! To add photos to a new formula, tap the camera icon after you enter the formula. Snap or upload a few pics, then tap the ‘✓’ to finish.

To add more photos to an existing formula, just tap on the camera icon and snap or upload a few new photos!

delete a client

To delete a client, simply swipe left on their name in the client list. You should see a pink ‘delete’ button appear, which you can tap to remove them.

Contact a client

To contact a client, simply tap ‘Details’ on their client card. Then, tap the pink button next to either their mobile phone, home phone, or email. You can also contact multiple clients at a time using the ‘Email Clients’ feature.

Send a Mass Email

To send an email to multiple clients, choose “Email” from the bottom bar. Then, either tap “Select All” at the top or select which clients you want to contact from your list. After you have them selected, tap the mail icon in the lower right corner. This will launch a new email draft in your chosen email app. The addresses you selected will be copied to the ":BCC" field. Simply enter your own email address in the ":To" field, which will send a copy to yourself along with all your clients.

Save Client Details

For keeping track of individual client details like phone numbers, home addresses, and more—simply tap ‘Details’ on a client card. Then, you can enter details into the corresponding fields. At the bottom, you’ll also find a ‘Notes’ section where you can write any additional information.

use multiple devices

You can log into Gloss on more than one device, including an iPad. You just need to use the same Apple ID and Gloss login info (email/password) on both devices.

Set a Birthday Reminder

You can set individual reminders for client birthdays. Tap “Contact” on a client card. Then, scroll down to where it says “Birthday” and enter the date. To the right of the birthday, toggle the button to turn notifications on (it should be pink.) You’ll need to set the reminder at least a day in advance to receive a notification.

get a daily reminder

From the main menu, tap “Settings.” Then, select the time you would like to receive notifications followed by the day(s) of the week (if you do it the other way around the days will deselect).

Upon downloading Gloss, if you selected "No" to "Would you like to receive notification?" you will sadly have to go to your settings in your iPhone and turn on notifications for Gloss.

write client notes

For keeping track of additional client notes like allergies, family names and more—simply use the "Notes" field at the bottom of the details section on their client card.

share photos to social media

To share on your favorite social media platform, simply tap on a photo and then tap the export button. If you don’t see the button, tap on the screen to make it appear.

Login issues

If you’re having trouble logging in, here’s a few things to check:

-Make sure you're signing in using the same email address and/or social login (Facebook/Google) you used when you originally signed up. Your account is linked to this address, if you're using the wrong one then you may accidentally create a new account or have trouble signing in. If you can't locate the correct one, email us at info@glossapp.club and we will try to locate it for you.

-Check your device is connected to Wi-Fi.

-Update to the latest version of the app.

-Confirm your subscription settings in your Apple ID:

1. Open the Settings app on your device

2. Tap your name

3. Then tap "Subscriptions"

4. Scroll down, then tap Gloss

5. If you're subscribed, next to "Gloss: Save Formulas & Clients" it should say you are subscribed with a check mark.

6. If not, please tap on the "Gloss: Save Formulas & Clients" membership plan you want to try re-subscribing.

7. Then, try signing into Gloss again. Make sure to tap "Sign In" and not "Get Started."

-If you signed up using Facebook or Google, please make sure it is connected to the proper account.

-If you have an existing account, make sure you’re tapping ‘Sign In’ in the upper right and not ‘Get Started’.

-Verify the credit card connected to your Apple ID is entered in properly (be sure to check the CVV as sometimes it gets erased). To do this on your iPhone go to: Settings > iTunes & App Store > Click on your Apple ID > View Apple ID > Payment Information.

-If you’re still having trouble, you can also delete the app off your phone and re-install it from the App Store. All of your data and info will still be there when you come back.

“HelP! ALl My INFO SEEMS TO BE MISSING”

If you opened your account and it looks like all your formulas and clients are gone, chances are you accidentally created a new account instead of signing into your existing one.

We know this is scary, but we've never had any users' data all disappear. All you need to do is sign out and sign back into the account where all your info is saved.

Please follow these steps to get back into your correct account:

1. Go to Settings and Sign Out

2. Close/quit the app

3. Launch Gloss again.

4. Tap "Sign In", (not "Get Started")

5. Try signing in again, but make sure you're using the same email address and/or social login (Facebook, Google) you used when you originally signed. If you can't remember, email us at info@glossapp.club and we will try to locate it.

6. All your info should be right where you left it. If not, you probably signed into the wrong account.
